Welcome back, Dr. Stauffer!
The CS Department welcomes back Dr. Lynn Stauffer, Professor of Computer Science. Most recently, Dr. Stauffer served as Dean of the School of Science and Technology, a position she held from 2010 to 2020. She returns to the department she helped build, having joined the SSU Computer Science Department in 1994. She earned her PhD from UC Irvine, where her doctoral research was in the area of high-speed data compression. Dr. Stauffer is a strong advocate for Sonoma State and the educational experience the university strives to provide every student. She was recognized as an Inspiring Leaders in STEM award recipient from the national Insight Into Diversity Magazine and as a Women Business Leader by the North Bay Business Journal. She is a principal investigator of the Sonoma Mountain Connection program, which provides support to early career students in select STEM majors, including computer science. Dr. Stauffer is a recipient of the Excellence in Teaching Award from SSU, and we are excited to have her again in the classroom!
