Two of our Computer Science majors—Alondra Lona and Tairyn Addison—recently represented SSU at Anita Borg Institue's Virtual Grace Hopper Celebration in 2020. GHC is the world's largest gathering of women in computing. Both students were awarded funding under GHC's Student Scholar program. Alondra, a dual-major in CS and Spanish, spoke highly of the event:

GHC was an exciting and informative experience. Being able to connect with women who are also pursuing a CS major made me feel confident and gave me a sense of unity. It was also empowering listening to amazing women in tech talk about their careers and the opportunities they have had. One of my favorite parts was getting to network and attend the workshops that were offered!

GHC is an excellent event for careers and networking. Talk to your advisor if you are interested is submitting an application for funding to attend!
