The annual SSU Science Symposium continued to be virtual in 2021. Computer Science faculty and students presented research posters, showcasing the research work they undertook (largely remotely) during the Fall and Spring.

CS majors Alex Dewey, Jonathan Calderon Chavez, Vincent Valenzuela and Antone Silveria presented their work "Using Machine Learning to Measure Biodiversity from Sound Recordings" at the virtual 35th Annual CSU Systemwide Student Research Competition on April 30, 2021.
Spring 2021 Advanced Software Design Project (CS 470) students presented their senior capstone projects online. Students had to make video demos of their apps that are accessible to a professional audience. Check out their awesome work below.

As part of the final project for CS 330 in Spring 2019, students had to build a complete game. The primary learning objectives of this project were two-fold: first, they were expected to apply and expand their knowledge of gameplay programming in Unreal 4.

The CS Club and WiCS had their extraordinary accomplishments recognized at the 2019 SSU Student Involvement Awards. With over 100 clubs participating, and 100+ nominations, they claimed 3 of the 10 prizes awarded.
